There is no charge for a telephone intake.

As of January 1, 2023, Dr. Mapou’s rate for all clinical services is $230.00/hour. Because Dr. Mapou has no administrative staff, he completes all administrative work himself. If you schedule an evaluation, there is a one-time administrative fee of $130.00 to cover the cost of brief phone calls and emails, preparation of the report for emailing or mailing, report mailing, and other non-clinical tasks. This is payable by credit card at the time of booking.

As required by the No Surprises Act, Dr. Mapou will provide a Good Faith Estimate for his evaluation shortly after scheduling. Current range of estimated time and charges are as follows for the different evauluations. Total time and charges include, as applicable, interview(s), record review, rating scales, testing, scoring, feedback and report. Lengthy phone conversations and extensive email exchanges will be billed at Dr. Mapou’s hourly rate, When there are extensive records to review, the final cost may be higher.

Dr. Mapou does not accept insurance as a form of payment. However, he can provide a receipt to submit to an insurance company once the evaluation has been paid for in full. Individuals with Medicare must sign a private-pay contract with Dr. Mapou because he has opted-out of Medicare. Receipts for individuals with Medicare cannot be submitted to Medicare but may be reimbursed by a supplemental insurer.

Dr. Mapou can accept credit cards (additional 3% fee). When there are financial constraints or limited income, Dr. Mapou can reduce his fee and/or arrange a payment plan. Please discuss this with him before scheduling.
