Consultation
Dr. Mapou provides consultation to parents, educators, universities/colleges, attorneys, physicians, and other professionals when an evaluation is not needed. These services include, but are not limited to:
- Reviewing previous evaluations to assist parents with diagnosis and to determine what services are needed
- Reviewing evaluations with educators and tutors to explain implications for intervention
- Reviewing evaluations and other records to determine eligibility for accommodations and other services from universities and public institutions
- Reviewing symptoms with physicians to determine if an evaluation is needed.
- Reviewing records from attorneys to assist with legal cases and to determine if an evaluation is needed
Workshops
Dr. Mapou regularly gives workshops and presentations to professionals for continuing education, patients, and parents on the following topics, among others:
- Evaluating older adolescents and adults for learning disabilities and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
- Evaluating older adolescents and adults for autism spectrum disorder
- Documenting disabilities for post-secondary education, entrance examinations, and licensing examinations
